LOG LINE: An increasingly desperate father conceives of a disturbing idea to help solve his daughter’s inoperable skin disease.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

Mitchell (Male, 35-55, any ethnicity):

Jackie’s father. A middle-aged man, exhausted from the constant hardships of his daughter’s illness.

He wants nothing more than to give her a normal life but feels helpless to do so, and is willing to do whatever it takes to help her get better.

 

Jackie (Female, 9-12, any ethnicity):

Mitchell’s daughter. A young girl plagued by a skin disease that makes her essentially allergic to the sun.

She’s naive from her lack of interaction with the outside world, and while she wants to be strong for her father, she is finding it hard to maintain hope in the face of seemingly impossible odds.
