We are casting a select group of Southern church ladies to bring an authentic Sunday service vibe to life for a key scene in this independent film.
We are STRONGLY seeking women who naturally own this wardrobe, understand the Southern church culture, and can authentically represent the look and energy of church mothers, aunties, and church ladies who show up in their Sunday best with hats.
Casting For:
• Black/African-American women
• Ages 50 and up
• Southern church ladies with hats – the “First Sunday / church mother / usher board / choir member” vibe
WARDROBE GUIDELINES (VERY IMPORTANT):
ALL BG MUST BRING THIS SPECIFIC WARDROBE.
If you do NOT have these looks, please do NOT apply.
If you DO have them, you must send photos in this attire to be considered.
WOMEN – “SUNDAY BEST” CHURCH LOOKS:
• Modest church dresses or skirt suits
• Dressy blouses with skirts
• Coordinated church suits
• CHURCH HATS are REQUIRED – statement hats, fascinators, or traditional church hats
• Optional: gloves, small purses, hosiery
• Shoes: church heels, wedges, or dressy flats (comfortable enough to stand and walk in)
We are prioritizing those who already own complete Sunday church outfits with hats and can arrive camera-ready.
You must provide your own wardrobe that accurately fits the above guidelines.
