Casting Call for Short Psychological Thriller Film in Raleigh, NC, Multiple Roles Available
Film Information:
The film “Group Therapy” is a short thriller picture that showcases multiple characters participating in a group therapy session, sharing the details of their heinous crimes to their peers. The setting takes place inside a psychiatric institution.
Looking for:
We are looking for performers who can truly become a dynamic character. We are seeking experienced performers who are coach-able, reliable, and can work well with others. The specifics for each available role are listed below. To be heavily considered, please send a complete resume and an acting reel that showcases your range as a performer.
– (Role of Bill Dunbar) Caucasian Male, aged 30-50. Heavy set. Ideally bald, but that isn’t a deal-breaker. Bill strangled his son and wife because voices told him to do so. He is emotional and is remorseful for his actions.
– (Role of Jasper Ferrell) Caucasian Male, aged 18-24. Fit. Pretty boy. Jasper violated and murdered a young woman during a Craigslist purchase. His character is arrogant and not remorseful for his actions.
– (Role of Angela Hawkins) Black, Hispanic, or White. Aged 40-50. Older, bitter. Angela caught her husband in the act of infidelity. She mutilated and murdered him on-sight. She hates men.
– (Role of Sophia Valente) Hispanic or White. Aged 18-24. Attractive, but looks very tired. Sophia murdered the man who kidnapped and forced her into trafficking, but was convicted of murder anyways without the former being considered. She dislikes men.
– (Role of Jack Dunbar) Caucasian. Male. Between the ages of 8-12. Parental direction advised for this role. Parent must accompany child on set and sign a release of liability form. Jack is the son of Bill. Jack is murdered by Bill. There are no scene that involve stunt coordination. Heavy use of language will be used in dialogue around your child. Limited lines are said.
– (Role of Linda Dunbar) Caucasian. Female. Between the ages of 30-50. Wife of Bill Dunbar. She is murdered by Bill. Limited lines are said.
– (Role of Matt Hawkins) Black, Hispanic, or White. Male. Aged 40-50. Fit, in good physical shape. This character is has limited dialogue and will be included in a scene with partial, but not full frontal nudity. Must be 18 or older to audition. Valid ID will be required at audition.
– (Role of Leah Thompson) White. Female. Aged 18-25. Fit, in good physical shape. Attractive. This character is has limited dialogue and will be included in a scene with partial, but not full frontal nudity. Must be 18 or older to audition. Valid ID will be required at audition.
– (Role of Abductor) Male. Any race. Aged 30-50. This character will be involved with a main character. No speaking required.
– (Role of Young Donavan Gamble) Male. African American. Aged 14-18. Heavier set. This character is a younger version of one of the main characters and has limited dialogue.
– (Role of Deon Walker) Male. African American. Aged 14-18. Any size. This character has limited dialogue.
– (Role of Emily Fowler) Caucasian. Female. Aged 18-22. Pretty. She is a college student. Limited dialogue. She is murdered by one of the main characters.
– (Roles of Corrections Officers) Any race. Ideally over 5’11, but not a deal breaker. No speaking required. Look tough.
Additional Information:
Roles are non-paid. Travel is not paid. Food and beverage provided on-set. There will be multiple rehearsals and table-readings. Failure to appear will result in loss and replacement of role.
