Synopsis
District 13 is an episodic dramatic series taking a deep dive into the lives of seven residents of Drait, NC. When rookie cop, Bradley Ferguson, shoots an unarmed black man, Jonah Hill, the city’s racial tensions erupt, further dividing residents. Five people play intricate parts in the moments leading up to the shooting between the Bradley and Jonah.

Shootings aren’t always as cut and dry as the media makes them with 60 second snapshots of events. We explore the lives of the Rookie, the teacher and five witnesses to see what let them all to that moment and how they move forward.

Details
This two-day shoot is a no-budget project. Craft services will be provided both days as well as IMDB credit. This is a great opportunity for students looking to gain more experience or experienced crew looking to gain knowledge and experience in a different field. This shoot will create the concept trailer which will be used to pitch a full 12 episodic series to investors and distributors. Upon getting picked up, there may be an opportunity to work on the team with a paid rate. The proposed shoot dates are November 9th & 10th with the Following weekend being backup dates. Casting Call
– Jonah Hill, African American 25-30 years old, fashionable. Best known as “Teacher bae”. An activist not afraid to go against the grain.

– Elle Mariano, Caucasian 30-35 years old. Feisty, in the courageous sense. Ready to light a fire under anyone trying to hold of group of people back. Fighter of equality. Privileged but uses her resources for good, most of the time.

– Terrance James, African American, 18 years old. Intelligent, a gentle soul with a quarrelsome spirit. Head of his household, their savior.

– Blake James, African American 15 years old. He stands out in a crowd of his peers, his role model, Jaden Smith. Marches to the beat of his own drum. Creatively gifted.

– Ava, Hispanic, 18 years old. A DREAMer, she’s a woman on the verge of learning just how strong and brave she is. The first in her family to attend college and carrying a lot on her shoulders.

– Mildred Badri, African American, 60s-70’s. Militant. Fearless. Will love you and reprimand you with one swoop. Full of wisdom and always ready to share whether you want to hear it or not.

– Bradley Ferguson, Caucasian, 30 – 35 years old. He’s in a period of finding and reinventing himself. Brad is an honest family man, sometimes to a fault. Well intentioned. Joining the police force to make a positive difference.
