Short film to be produced during the Spring 2019 semester, for UNC-Chapel Hill

Comm647: Advanced Projects.

Roles Available:

Mrs. Blackburn – (30s-40s +, flexible) High school biology teacher. Supportive. Pushes Anna to succeed, maybe too much

Mr. Franklin – (30s-50s) Anna’s dad, supportive, reads newspaper comics, “cool dad”,

Librarian – (Variable, any age) Delivers book to Anna, pg 7-8

“Tomorrow’s News” is the story of a Senior in high school that is completing a research project to graduate. While deciding on a topic, she discovers a newspaper from the future, predicting her success. As she works towards this idyllic future, she encounters some problems, faces some hardships, but ultimately overcomes the adversity.

Filming will take place mainly in March 2019.

Expected time commitment for Mrs. Blackburn is 1 day (5-6 hours), 1 location.
Expected time commitment for Mr. Franklin is 1 day (2-3 hours), 1 location.
Expected time commitment for Librarian is 1 day (1 hours), 1 location.

Roles are unpaid. Can offer travel reimbursement for gas, if travelling locally. Casting from Chapel Hill/surrounding area. Will receive film credit and finished material for reel. Invited to end-of-year class screening, location tba.
