General Information:
We are currently casting for three positions for the initial shooting schedule this year. The balance will be cast in the Fall of 2017 and will be shot (on the weekends) over the next several months. The film has Christian parts, but it NOT a Christian film.
Synopsis:
Martha is a film about a young girl who was verbally and emotionally abused by high school classmates, because her father was a pastor and because she was faithful to the Christian faith. The abuse continues until she is jumped by three other classmates and brutally beaten, resulting in a two-week hospital stay. The even would forever change her life. As she continues her life, she remains a sweet, loving, giving person but don’t cross her or her family-they’ll be hell to pay.
Character Info
Martha, female, age 16
A slightly portly young girl with brown eye and brown hair (not a specific requirement). Her demeanor is very diplomatic, but very playful. She loves to laugh and play and is famous for her belly laugh.
Evelyn, female, age 12
The skinny sister of Martha but is the direct opposite in personality. Evelyn will NOT hold her tongue if something is on her mind. She is quick to tell you what she thinks. She has a typical relationship with Martha…ups and downs, but she’s always there for Martha, if needed.
Willy, male, 30’s
A slightly portly Pentecostal pastor of a small church in a small town. Willy is balding, but wares it very well. He loves his family and his god. He has a good heart and it always willing to help anyone. Martha got her sense of humor from her father-Willy. He also loved to laugh and would often entertain Martha’s humorous stories about someone with her footprints, stealing tomatoes from the garden.
